I think you all are missing a point. I'm sure the wtbs loves for Richy to have that book. How easy is it for Witnesses to deny any facts presented when all they have to do is say to themselves, "He's a thief and a liar." When waging battles of honor, I'm of the opionon that one should not base their own eithics on the very things they're despising. Rather, we must rise above the wtbs morally if we're to win souls. No?

Yep....Sometimes you just have to beat liers and con artists at their own game
So, we have to become liars and con artists? Is this what you're saying?

Here's my gripe. The book is already known and out. You can easily get copies emailed to you, so taking the book has not given us any new information. In that respect, the anti-jw cause would have been furthered in a more respectable fashion by not stealing the book.

Bonsai Kittens ... have you heard about this?
by free2beme inhas anyone ever heard of the practice of bonsai kittens.
it is where you put a kitten in a bottle, and put a tub inside it to discard waste and another in it's mouth to feed it.
you then display it, kind of like a decoration.

I guess I'm just so sensitive when it comes to cats {insert anything that rouses emotion}, that I can't think clearly.
I think ya hit the nail on the head. The site is ingenious--designed to make people think. Too bad some so easily miss the point. People expressed the same kind of outrage at Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal. Oh well.

Wombat. You're absolutely correct. Losing my temper goes contrary to who I am, and I don't know why I did the other night. I suppose that upset me later more than anything.
As far as race, I'm not getting into that bs slinging fight. I said nothing racist and the vast majority did not take anything I said to be a comment on race. I used the term black as an adjective to describe the character I was talking about. If I had a race agenda, why in the hell would I paint myself in as poor a light as I did in this story? This is, once again, absurd. Have a great day guys.

I, as the author, will deem what is necessary for my story. If I choose to describe someone, I include race. Are you also going to argue that it was unnecessary to mention he was a man? This is absurd.

Thanks guys--I feel better today. Highlander. When I say black, I wasn't speaking of the color of his skin, but rather his ethnicity. I'll tell you what it has to do with--if any of the other guys did half the things this guy does, they'd be gone. Yes, it's annoying as hell. He gets preferrential treatment while he's instigating arguments with everyon--not just me, not performing his job, and robbing the company blind. The fact that he uses his race as a tool to further this is only more insulting, and you're damned straight it's a pertinent characteristic to mention, not because he is black but because he uses his race as a tool.

We have given passives an undeserved bad rap. Many legitimate places exist for passives--usually depending on the preceding sentence--that make information flow more smoothly. The important thing is knowing the difference and knowing when to use them. 60% is excessive by anyone's standard, though.
